ART INTEGRATED PROJECT ON LADAKH

The aim of the ART INTEGRATED PROJECT is to apply art-based exploration, creativity, and investigation that derive the meaning and understanding directly from the learning experience. It gives positive impact on the development of certain life skills such as communication skills, creativity and to link between subject/topic/real life. ART INTEGRATED PROJECT ON LADAKH is the collaboration between the teaching of subject with the teaching of art.

The project was done thoroughly by the students of class 4 about the general characteristic of houses in LADAKH, which includes the knowledge about

Characteristics of house
• Thick wall
• High roof
• Tall window
• Flat roof
• Sun facing

Mostly two floors
• Living room
• Ground floor for animals/ storage

Reason for the flat roof
• Dry climate
• Without much rain

The study further enlightens the students with joyful, informative and descriptive about LADAKH. The students were presented with the information about LADAKH and on a piece of chart (cut into a rectangular shape) they wrote down the general characteristics of houses in LADAKH, the reason for the flat roof surface and descriptive knowledge about the two floor house system. Each student with a piece of the rectangular shaped chart were formally asked to stand up with the paper cutting on hand when the specific information about the topic of the project was asked. Later the rectangular shaped chart were stuck onto the broader chart.

With THIS ART INTEGRATED PROJECT ON LADAKH, the students were able to create a structured based information chart about the characteristics of houses, reason of the flat roof and the two floor house system.
